If we go into those areas, we keep the routes shorter, especially on a snowy and cold day. The only tracks were from deer and coyote. Peterson, 1861-1916, a Juneau businessman and miner. In 1899 he staked a claim on the creek which he called Cheechako Creek. Later it became known as Peterson Creek (DeArmond, 1957, p. 35).
